Sin City Style: A Stylized Take on the French Bakery Scene

This is my stylized interpretation of the French Bakery scene, originally created by Marion Machelard, Emma Siret, and Céline Soubrane, and rendered using Pixar’s RenderMan.

Inspired by the iconic high-contrast aesthetic of Sin City, this version explores RenderMan’s Stylized Looks, specifically the Artistic Toon features within the PxrStylizedControl node. The entire scene was set up and rendered in RenderMan for Maya, pushing the noir visual style through carefully tuned shadow and highlight treatments.

Below, you’ll find the final image alongside the individual AOVs that built up the look—including the original Albedo and Shadow passes were replaced by the Artistic Toon shader. All layers were authored using Stylized Looks and rendered as a single unified pass without compositing.
