Geo-Directory Listing

This Power BI template displays a listing of all of the certified Microsoft consulting services for Power BI. The template showcases a typical competitor analysis report taken a step fotward by making it an interactive report and offer geographical map filtering and additional filtering capabilities. The report uses three types of Maps visuals that are standard in any Power BI installation. These are:

1. Map Visual

2. Fill Map Visual

3. ESRI ArcGIS Visual

The source data for the workbook were scraped from Microsoft Power BI Consulting Services listing. Power BI was used for the data scraping which made the process seamles and contained into a single application.

The original Microsoft listing allowed the user to filter data by the following filters:

1. Country/Region

2. By State (Works for the United States only)

3. By the product

4. By the targeted industry

5. Service Type

I wanted to experiment in building a richer interface and allow for even more filtering options and well as comparison capabilities. These capabilities and filtering options were the following:

• Expand the service Types from 5 types to 7 types

• Filter between Free and Paid services

• Dislpay service coverage visually on a map

• Display the most popular service being offered in each country

• Discren which country and service is more profitable

The above additional filtering and visual capabilities will prove to be more meaningful for a constulency service aiming to venture into providing consulting services for Power BI. This is the typical competitor analysis report for consulting businesses.
